What is Outlook?

Microsoft Office Outlook is a component of the Microsoft Office suite. It expands the functionality of Outlook Express, which comes with Windows. Outlook has many functions. You can use it to send and receive emails, manage contact information, keep a diary, schedule, and assign tasks. The latest version is Outlook 2019.

Microsoft also renamed its Hotmail online email service to Outlook.com.

In March 2018, Outlook on Android and iOS will be integrated with Cortana, which is currently being tested internally. The Cortana integration will allow Outlook users on Android and iOS to take advantage of voice control to read messages aloud. In addition, users will be able to ask questions like "What are my emails?" and read messages sent by specific contacts in Outlook.

Outlook Application Range

Outlook is Microsoft's flagship email and collaboration client product. It is a standalone application that is integrated into Microsoft Office and Exchange Server. Outlook also provides interaction and integration with Internet Explorer 5.5. The full integration of email, calendar, and contact management features makes Outlook the perfect client for many business users.

Outlook helps you find and organize information so that you can work seamlessly with Office applications. This helps you communicate and share information more effectively.

Powerful inbox rules allow you to filter and organize email. With Outlook, you can integrate and manage emails from multiple email accounts, personal and group calendars, contacts, and tasks.

When you use Outlook with Exchange Server, you can use workgroup information sharing and workflow communications, group scheduling, public folders, forms, and enhanced Internet connectivity.
