AWOK—Flash Sale in UAE & Saudi Arabia

AWOK was founded in April 2013 by Ulugbek Yuldashev, who initially focused on selling electronic products and gradually transformed into the current flash sales model. AWOK's parent company ALIFCAD MCC is also a retail company.

Awok.com mainly sells affordable products in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, targeting middle and low-income people. Today, the platform offers more than 70,000 products covering more than 30 categories and has its own logistics distribution center.

AWOK founder Ulugbek Yuldashev is a Kyrgyz. Before coming to Dubai, he owned a wholesale and retail company in Kyrgyzstan. In 2006, he came to Dubai and has been working in the retail industry. Founded in 2013, Ulugbek Yuldashev founded the company with his life savings of $30,000 and only three employees.

AWOK’s Financing :

In April 2019, Awok.com announced the completion of its first round of external financing since its inception. The $30 million Series A financing was jointly led by Middle Eastern investment company StonePineACEPartners (a joint venture between StonePineCAPItalPartners and ACE&CompanySA) and Al-FaisaliahVentures, the latter of which is the newly established CVC venture capital institution of Saudi Arabian enterprise AlFaisaliah. In addition, investment company EndeavorCatalyst also participated in this round of financing. This financing will help strengthen Awok's team, including attracting global talents, providing customer experience levels and after-sales support.
