POLO factory inspection standards
POLO RALPH LAUREN operates around the world with ethical business practices and the dignity of workers. We expect our business partners and their suppliers to respect and comply with our Basic Principles and all applicable national and local laws in the course of their business operations. We will evaluate our relationships with customers and suppliers through these standards.

1.
Salary / Benefits
Our business partners must pay wages, overtime compensation, and all legally required benefits in accordance with all applicable local laws and regulations. Wage and benefit policies must be consistent with current national standards and in line with prevailing international practices to meet the basic needs of workers and their families. We will not work with a company whose wage system violates local laws or prevailing industry practices.

Working hours
Under normal business conditions, employees cannot be required to work more than 60 hours per week (including overtime) or the local industry limit, whichever is shorter. Employees must be guaranteed at least one day off in every seven days .

3.
Prohibition of child labor
Our business partners must not employ child labourers under the age of 15 .

4.
Health and Safety
Our business partners must ensure that their workers have a safe and healthy working environment free from unsanitary or hazardous conditions.

5.
Freedom to join trade unions
Our operations should respect the legal rights of employees to freely join unions as they wish without interference.

6.
Prohibition of the use of prisoners or forced labor
Our business partners must not work with, or arrange to purchase any materials from, partners that use prisoner or forced labor in the manufacturing of their products.

7.
Prohibition of corporal punishment or mental torture
Our business partners must not do business in any way with companies that subject their workers to any form of physical or mental torture.

8.
No discrimination or prejudice
Our business partners will not engage in any form of discrimination or prejudice in hiring and employing workers, including age, race, color, gender, or religion, and will not maintain business dealings with partners who have such prejudice and discrimination.

9.
Environmental protection
Our business partners must be aware of environmental protection and their business operations must comply with local and international conventions on environmental protection practices.

10.
Comply with customs regulations
Our business partners are required to comply with applicable customs regulations and participate in customs programs to combat the illegal transshipment of products.

11.
Legal provisions
Our business partnerships must be based on mutual respect and compliance with all legal requirements, and our business partners should comply with applicable local and international standards.

12.
Professional ethics standards
We believe in upholding the highest ethical standards in our business operations and we will work with partners who share our beliefs because doing so is beneficial to our company's reputation and will lead to success for both us and our chosen partners.

13.
Points Bag
Our business partners may not subcontract all or part of the work on our products without our written consent. Written consent will only be issued if each subcontractor meets all the standards set out herein.

14.
Conflict of Interest
Our business partners may not give gifts to our employees with a value exceeding $ 25 , nor may they bribe officials in various countries to benefit the company or its business.

15.
Execution OK
We will implement these standards in the process of selecting business partners and will implement these standards in all business activities. This includes that our business partners will share information about production facilities and processes with us to achieve the goal of improving service quality in a responsible manner. If a business partner does not meet the above standards, we will take appropriate measures, up to and including the cancellation of existing orders.
