Amazon's Climate Pledge Friendly Project

Amazon's Climate Pledge Friendly Project

As a world-class e-commerce giant, Amazon's every move has attracted widespread attention from the supply chain.

In 2019, Amazon and Global Optimism jointly launched The Climate Pledge, pledging to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2040. As one of the world's largest corporate purchasers of renewable energy, Amazon has built more than 200 projects around the world to accelerate this goal, and the Climate Pledge Friendly project is one of them.

The Climate Pledge Friendly program was launched in the United States in September 2020. Amazon has collaborated with government agencies, non-profit organizations, and third-party independent laboratories to label products that meet one or more environmental certifications with the Climate Pledge Friendly label, helping consumers identify and purchase products that are more environmentally sustainable when shopping on its website. To date, more than 110,000 products on the Amazon platform have been labeled "Climate Pledge Friendly," and the scope is expanding.

Amazon's official website shows that, judging from the sales of similar products, even if the price of "Climate Pledge Friendly" products is slightly higher than that of ordinary products, consumers are still willing to choose more environmentally friendly and sustainable products. The concept of sustainability and environmental protection is deeply rooted in people's hearts.

The concept and term of sustainability is relatively broad and general, but Amazon has listed very specific recognized environmental certification projects in this project. Most of our readers are industry insiders or export companies, so it is necessary for many of them to read the following in full to better understand industry trends and foreign customer needs.

Currently, Amazon's "Climate Pledge Friendly" project has listed 34 recognized certification projects, including organic products, fair trade certification, energy-saving certification, healthy and non-toxic raw materials, products made from recycled materials, carbon emission reduction certification, etc. Products that pass any of the following certifications can obtain the "Climate Pledge Friendly" label and display it on the sales page.
