WAL-MART factory inspection 2013 latest fire protection standards

Recently, some European and American brands or importers have raised their standards for factory inspections. Especially for WAL-MART, the factory inspection standards are now very strict in terms of fire safety. The reason is that there have been fires in garment factories in some Southeast Asian countries such as Bangladesh, causing heavy casualties. Now major brands are increasing their inspections on fire safety. Friends who have factory inspections recently, please pay attention. Strengthening of fire safety requirements - applicable to all countries.
1. Fire prevention
a. Smoking inside the building;
b. Improper storage of hazardous chemicals or flammable chemicals;
c. Smoke fire detectors are not installed/the number of induction fire detectors installed is insufficient;
d. The distribution box is in a dangerous state or is improperly maintained (the cover of the distribution box is not properly protected).

2. Emergency Evacuation
a. Improper setting of emergency evacuation map;
b. The evacuation assembly point is not designated or marked/the evacuation assembly point is blocked;
c. The escape routes, passages or stairs are blocked;
d. The evacuation routes within the building (including stairs, floors and emergency exits in all areas or floors) are not marked or properly illuminated (emergency lights);
e. The emergency evacuation door is not equipped with a push rod lock and cannot be opened outwards or in the direction of escape;
f. The fire escape route does not lead to the evacuation assembly point;
g. Fire alarms are not installed/fire alarms installed on all floors or areas of the building cannot be linked uniformly;
h. The windows with bars are not equipped with devices that can be opened from the inside to facilitate escape;
i. There is no second emergency exit on any floor of the building;
j. The primary emergency exit and the second emergency exit are not located at the two ends of the building and cannot be reached through independent passages;
k. No passage is provided to facilitate fire trucks or fire-fighting equipment to approach the factory buildings or the passage is blocked.
