Mattel factory inspection, Mattel factory inspection process

Mattel factory inspection, Mattel factory inspection process
Mattel is the world's largest toy manufacturer. When Mattel conducts factory inspections, it follows the Global Manufacturing Principles (GMP). In addition, Mattel's factory inspection process includes four steps, namely providing management compliance reports, reviewing work and personnel files, reviewing factories and dormitories, and interviewing employees.
1. Provide management compliance reports
1. The contract factory is responsible for preparing the management compliance report and recording the contract factory's compliance with GMP standards.
2. Submit management compliance report one week before the audit.
2. Review wages and personnel files
The main audits include general working hours, overtime hours, salary payments, performance payable to employees, and other bonus systems, including various withholding payments.
Review salary and personnel files to ensure that all wages or benefits paid to employees comply with local laws and GMP regulations.
Salary payment details should let employees know the detailed contents of salary and various deductions to ensure that employees receive the salary they deserve.
Information that can be obtained from personnel files includes whether employees are treated fairly, whether discipline is carried out in accordance with the company's normal or relevant regulations, employee training records, and the occurrence of work-related injuries.
3. Auditing the factory buildings and dormitories
First, observe the factory buildings, work areas, storage facilities, dormitories and recreational facilities. This will take about 4-6 hours and will be done by a group of 2-3 members.
IV. Employee Interview
Understand the factory's working environment through employee interviews.
