Shanghai cross-border e-commerce "618" mid-year promotion support work successfully completed

After active preparation, the support work for the 2019 "618" mid-year promotion of Shanghai's cross-border e-commerce was successfully completed, and the transaction amount hit a record high. From June 1st to 18th, the city's cross-border e-commerce imports and exports through the Shanghai Cross-border Public Service Platform reached 3.038 million tickets, and the transaction amount exceeded 500 million yuan, an increase of 39.2% and 29.1% year-on-year respectively. In terms of online customs clearance efficiency, the platform released a maximum of 458,000 tickets per day, with a peak of 103,000 tickets per hour, and a customs clearance rate of 99.84%. According to feedback from mainstream cross-border e-commerce platforms across the country such as Tmall and JD.com, the declaration processing efficiency of Shanghai Port remains the first in the country.

In view of the particularity of peak customs clearance during cross-border e-commerce promotions, before this year's "618" promotion, the Municipal Commission of Commerce, together with Shanghai Customs and Shanghai Cross-border E-commerce Public Service Platform, made advance arrangements, set up a special guarantee team, significantly upgraded the software and hardware systems of the public service platform, carried out stress testing in advance, formulated emergency plans, and made every effort to ensure the stability of customs clearance during the promotion. With the active preparation and joint efforts of various units, online customs clearance during the promotion was smooth and orderly, providing strong guarantees for large-scale transactions on major e-commerce platforms.
