Weihai Cross-border E-commerce Association was established and has attracted 50 member companies

On August 10, the inaugural meeting of Weihai Cross-border E-commerce Association was successfully held. Representatives of more than 50 cross-border e-commerce enterprises in the city and members of the China (Weihai) Cross-border E-commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone Construction Leading Group from Weihai Comprehensive Bonded Zone, Weihai Customs, Rongcheng Customs, Municipal Taxation Bureau, Weihai Banking and Insurance Regulatory Bureau, Weihai Airport Group, Weihai Port Group, etc. attended the meeting. Qiao Jun, Director of Weihai Municipal Bureau of Commerce, attended the launching ceremony and delivered a speech.

The conference reviewed and approved the association's rules and regulations, including the election method and financial management method, and elected the first board of directors. At the board of directors meeting, the leadership team members discussed and deliberated on specific matters of the association.

At present, the association has absorbed 50 member companies. After its establishment, it will build a platform for communication between the government and enterprises, integrate multi-party cross-border e-commerce resources, and build a complete cross-border e-commerce enterprise public service system in the city. The association will also provide enterprises with all-round and multi-angle guidance and services in cross-border policy research, cross-border supply chain, cross-border logistics, cross-border exhibitions, resource integration and docking, etc., to serve enterprises and drive the development of the cross-border e-commerce industry.

The implementation of national policies such as the China-Korea Free Trade Agreement Local Economic Cooperation Demonstration Zone, the Cross-border E-commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone, and the Weihai Comprehensive Bonded Zone has given policy wings to the development of the city's cross-border e-commerce industry. Only by having good cards in hand and integrating resources well can we play good cards. Wang Mingtao, president of the association and chairman of Weihangou E-commerce Co., Ltd., said that Weihai's cross-border e-commerce has great development potential, with outstanding export performance but shortcomings in imports. The association will build bridges for the government and enterprises, keep a close eye on common problems in the industry, and promptly grasp the actual problems faced by enterprises in operation, effectively implement preferential policies, and play a role in precise support and industry control.

Association director Ruan Guodong runs a cross-border e-commerce service company. His company's main business is to provide customs clearance, traceability, inspection, certification and other services for cross-border e-commerce companies. As a participant in the cross-border e-commerce industry, Ruan Guodong believes that "the establishment of the association is a valuable opportunity. Through this platform, the superior resources and information among member companies can be fully shared, which will inevitably lead to effective interaction."

The unique geographical advantage of being close to Japan and South Korea, the increasingly developed cross-border logistics, the dense commodity circulation industry between China, Japan and South Korea... the soil for the development of the cross-border e-commerce industry in our city has become increasingly favorable. In recent years, our city has attached great importance to the development of cross-border e-commerce, a new industry, and has regarded it as the main battlefield for the transformation and upgrading of foreign trade and a growth point for accelerating development. Relevant data show that the scale of cross-border e-commerce retail imports and exports in our city has ranked first in Shandong Province for three consecutive years. In the first half of this year, the retail export volume of cross-border e-commerce in our city was 630 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 42.3%, accounting for 47.9% of the province. The cross-border e-commerce industry has initially formed a situation of combining points with the whole. The establishment of the Cross-border E-commerce Association will create an open, competitive and orderly cross-border e-commerce market environment for our city and promote the development of cross-border e-commerce into the fast lane.
