JCPenney Social Responsibility Policy

JCPenney Social Responsibility Policy
JCPenney's social responsibility policy mainly covers the following areas: communities, cooperatives, responsible procurement, environment and sustainable products. Together, they constitute JCPenney's CARES policy. In terms of supplier selection, he divides suppliers into three levels: A-level suppliers, B-level suppliers and C-level suppliers. The evaluation of supplier levels mainly refers to the following indicators: product quality, delivery time, price and technical indicators. There is no doubt that customers with A-level will receive the most orders. But before the supplier level is divided, there is a social responsibility risk assessment. The results of the risk assessment can be divided into three categories: low risk, medium risk and high risk. Factories with legal operations, reasonable employment of workers and safe working environment will be included in the low-risk category and undergo a 2-year audit. Factories with medium risks will be followed up with audits after 30 days due to some risk factors but can be further improved. For high-risk factories, which need to increase efforts for further follow-up, they will undergo irregular phased audits. JCPenney's main policy is to narrow the scope of countries and suppliers for procurement, put most of the procurement on Class A suppliers, and maintain a good cooperative relationship with suppliers. The procurement policy of "focusing on quality rather than quantity" is also an important measure for JCPenney to ensure stable supply.
