The ShopLocal SmartMedia service takes catalogs and weekly ads and delivers them to customers. What is the development history of ShopLocal? -ShopLocal was originally called SalesHound.com, LLC (founded in March 1993), and then changed its name to CrossMedia Services, Inc. on July 30, 2001. -In 2004, TKG Holdings acquired CrossMedia Services, Inc. for $75 million. -On July 8, 2008, Gannett acquired 42.5% of Tribune for $22.3 million and 15% of McClatchy for $7.9 million, making ShopLocal 100% owned by Gannett. -Shoplocal is now part of TEGNA Digital and merged with PoinTROll to create Cofactor Digital.
